Ok so my teacher told me my post has to be longer so this is a follow up on my previous post. so I've been thinking I am a perfect example of Campbell's theory. I recently received the call to come to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and have a good time. I skipped the rejecting part and quickly accepted this call...WHO WOULDN'T? it a couple hours I will be setting out on my adventure from Saratoga Springs to Atlanta..woo woo! There is a risk of danger that may burden my inevitable goal. What if my flights gets delayed and I can't go home. on the way to the airport the tires on the car could bust and I would be late to my flight. so many things can happen that cold ruin my journey. ..but this is the risk I have to take to make it home and have a great time. My guides will be the taxi driver/pilot/and my friend who is picking me up from the airport. All of these people are imperative to my goal. once I get there I would be bombarded with a plethora of distractions but I will overcome them to reach my goal and have a good time. Once I am all partied out I will be a better person inside and I will return to Saratoga Spring a happier Malcolm. :)
See, creative thought does matter I just put myself in the shoes of a "hero" Campbell helped me understand this concept. Now I feel like I can write my own story that follows this pattern and it will sale millions of dollars. Campbell made it easier for me to understand how stories are created and how many stories are alike in ways other than what actually takes place. BOOOOOYAAAAHHHH

Campbell's mmm mmm good
My first semester english class is almost over about blogging, and I can truly say I have learned a lot from it. we have talked a lot about different philosophers and their different theories of life and people. Some philosophers I learned about were easier than others to understand and some I could relate to more than others. One of the most interesting people I learned about was Joseph Campbell. he came up with the mono-myth theory. his theory was that most myths, stories, and religions share the same types of images and archetypes that represent the hero’s journey, which is the desire of the everyman, or woman to achieve individualization or wholeness of the psyche. according to this guy, every hero must go through a series of test to achieve their wholeness of the psyche. these steps are:
1. Call
2. Rejection
3. Acceptance
4. Setting out
5. Danger
6. Guides/potions
7. Overcoming
8. Reaching mystery
9. Return

I'm Ready!
Ok, so the first break of school is almost here and I'm excited! Thanksgiving is almost here and I can go to aAtlanta and eat some real food, go to real parties, and actually have real fun! I've been sick and tired of Skidmore College and for some reason, teachers feel like it necessary to give me papers that are due the last week of class. I feel like they just need to leave me alone and let e enjoy my break. I can do work when I get back. I don't believe in doing work away from school especially on break. SMH I can't wait to transfer USC here I come! I have a plane ticket home but I don't really know how to get to the airport. I'm in Saratoga and the airport is in Albany. This town is too small to have an airport so they make people go to another city just to leave. I'm ready to see my family and friends. I tired of cold weather and I'm tire of the craziness here. I will be able to sleep in, wake up when I want to, go to bed when I want to, and I can go through out a whole day without doing homework....YESSSSSSS. IM READY!

Prospy Day
Today during class we had some prospective students visit and sit in our class. I was excited to meet them and get to know them. They also were able to participate in class discussion. There were about 15 students that came from new york and they were kinda shy at first.
The first weird thing they did was sit all together by the door against the wall. the seats were situated in an outer and inner circle and all of the students immediately moved to the the outer circle! It was hilarious I feel like they were scared for no reason.
When we first started discussion about why we have blogs and blog identity only a few of the students wanted to participate. We brought cookies for them and everything. they eventually opened up and were fully participating in the class and seemed really interested in the class. it was an overall pretty good experience for them to see how a college class was. Some of the kids were really intelligent and I could relate with some of them. They remind me of myself when I was a senior. But that's another story for another time!

Howard University Homecoming
So I just got back from D.C. the other and i had a blast. Howard's homecoming was amazing. there was so much to do it was overwhelming. Skidmore bores me so much it felt good to actually have fun for once. from the moment i got off the plane i was having fun and doing different activities. as soon as I got there my friend and I hit up a party at a club and it was so crowded the line stretched around the street. I met so many beautiful women I was in heaven. We didn't have to wait in line because my friend was apart of the party promoters throwing the party. It wasn't even that cold, it was maybe 50 degrees at night. unlike Saratoga springs where its 50 below zero. The second I went t the actual Homecoming game where the actor, Tyrese, was the homecoming court marshal. other celebrities stopped by too like AJ from 106 and Park. after the game I went to the step show which was my favorite part of the trip. Step Teams from across the U.S. performed and J.cole, the rapper, performed afterwards. That same night me and friends partied in the dorms as well as the club. I don't really remember falling asleep that night there was just so much to do. Overall it was a life changing experience I will be definitely going back next year.
